I opened the Best Coast Wellness Center in June of 2016 after working abroad and in New York City for over 10 years. I was born and raised in Bellingham, Washington and love living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest! Working with people has been a life long passion of mine. I'm so happy to be back home participating in, and providing counseling support services for, our vibrant and growing community. 

As of March 2020 my practice has moved online and I will continue to provide services through telehealth.

Education

I received my BA in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from Seattle University and my MSW from Hunter College School of Social Work in New York City. I've had post-graduate training in trauma informed therapy, play therapy, grief and loss, and Lifespan Integration therapy. I also completed the Advanced Assessment and Diagnosis certificate program through New York University.  I continue to expand my learning through Continuing Education and courses on Trauma Informed Therapy, Lifespan Integration, ADHD, and Perinatal/Postnatal Care. I am a member of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health and the National Association of Social Workers.

Experience

Throughout my career I've worked in a variety of mental health settings. I spent a year in Dublin, Ireland working with adults in an alcohol rehabilitation center and then with individuals, youth and families in several New York City non-profit agencies. In July 2010 I became the founding social worker at a middle school in Brooklyn. I spent 6 years working with families, developing the school's anti-bullying curriculum, and establishing the counseling program at Brooklyn East. In 2016 I went into private practice and have worked with women, children and families throughout Whatcom County and Washington State.

Collaboration

In September of 2015 I was invited to join Associates in Mental Health in  Bellingham, WA.  AMH was founded in 1993 and is comprised of more than 25 Therapists and Psychologists supporting families and individuals in Whatcom County.
